1152 Rivington Street was an apartment block in New York City, close to the turn off onto Eldridge Street. Connected by a narrow stairwell, the apartments each occupied a different floor.[1]
From around February 1969, Indiana Jones was living in apartment 3 which afforded him local subway access for his professorship at Hunter College. By June, however, his marriage to Marion Ravenwood was collapsing and archaeologist had to deal with noisy neighbors.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Rivington Street is a real thoroughfare in Manhattan although the street numbers don't go anywhere near as high as 1152, ending just over 200. The apartment block in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, identified on the Con Edison receipt decorating the set, is also inconsistent with the buildings on the street outside (filmed in Glasgow, Scotland) which are dressed to number in the 900s.
