2936 was the year in which René Emile Belloq joked that the remains of Indiana Jones at the ancient Well of the Souls could become of archaeological interest.[1]
In 1936, as the Nazis prepared to seal the site with Jones inside after they had retrieved the Ark of the Covenant from him, Belloq referred back to his earlier conversation with Jones at the Marhala Bar in Cairo. There, he had spoken of how the passage of time could take an otherwise worthless pocket watch and turn it into a priceless artifact. He later mused that, as a "permanent addition" to the Well, Jones could perhaps be worth something in a thousand years too.[1]
