Acrophobia is a fear of heights.
Henry Jones, Sr. had acrophobia during his son Indiana's youth. The boy had done his father no favors by wandering up onto the roof of the Jones family house as a toddler, forcing the older man to climb up after him.[1] The Joneses also got trapped partway down a cliffside together in Greece during the professor's 1908-1910 world lecture tour.[2]
In 1937, the Nazi enforcer Gantz openly admitted that he had "höhenangst" to Indiana Jones, while they were on board a precariously positioned battleship stranded in the Himalayas, to flaunt his devotion to the Third Reich. Jones would ultimately test Gantz' resolve by dumping him overboard during a fight to claim an artifact which was connected to the mystery of the Great Circle.[3]
