The Armed Intelligence Officer was present and seemingly in-charge on the Sikorsky MH-53 "Sea Stallion" during the failed extraction of Doctor Jürgen Voller, Klaber and Hauke out of Tangier, Morocco in 1969.

History[]

On August 17, 1969, the Armed Intelligence Officer was in-charge of an extraction effort onboard a Sea Stallion to bring back Voller, Klaber and Hauke from Morocco to Spain where his part of the operation would end, in which a C-9 Transport would finish the final voyage of the journey from Spain to Maxwell Air Force Base in the state of Alabama, United States of America.[1]

During the flight, after unsuccessfully begging Mason to reverse course, Voller and his henchmen fought back, regaining control of the helicopter. During this encounter, the officer was booted out of the large passenger door by Klaber on the right side of the fuselage. The officer was grasping a parachute, but it was stripped from him last second by Klaber, which would ultimately seal his demise upon being knocked off the helicopter thousands of feet to his death.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Armed Intelligence Officer was portrayed by Gary Fannin in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.[1] Coincidentally, Dial of Destiny is set in 1969, the same year in which Gary Fannin was born.
