Arnaud de Montsigny was a curator for the Musée de Cluny.
Biography[]
In 1936, archaeologist Indiana Jones and his reporter friend Marya Smirnova met with curator Arnaud de Montsigny at the Musée de Cluny in Paris, France to view the tombstone of 15th century alchemist Nicholas Flamel while chasing clues to the Philosopher's Stone.[1]
While the slab seemed to be a dead end, de Montsigny remembered that the artifact had been delivered to the museum alongside what was thought to be an unrelated chest. The curator took the pair to view it in another room. While Jones ended up destroying the sealed container, it was revealed to be holding a vial of red power, the Philosopher's Stone. Jones handed the vial to the curator but took a sample for study.[1]
However, Jones and Smirnova were being observed by the forces of Nazi alchemist von Meert. After the pair had left, de Montsigny was interrogated and killed. When Jones and Smirnova eventually returned to their hotel, an encounter with a Professor van Meert, who had been pointed their way by his curator friend, prompted the archaeologist to call the museum only to discover that de Montsigny had gone missing that afternoon and later learned his fate from von Meert himself.[1]
