Aziz Rahim was a Moroccan gangster. He was the son of the crimelord known as "Big" Rahim.
Biography[]
Around 1968, Aziz Rahim had fallen in love with Helena Shaw, an English archaeologist and international antiquities thief, providing bail money for her after she was arrested in Tangier in return for an engagement. After being released, however, Shaw fled Morocco, leaving a devastated Rahim behind.[1]
In 1969, Rahim was woken up to the news that Shaw had returned to the Hotel L'Atlantique, his crimelord father's establishment, to offload artifacts at their annual black market auction. Without even changing out of his pajamas, he assembled a group of his henchmen, and rode in his green Jaguar to confront Shaw. The police had stopped Shaw and her American godfather Indiana Jones outside the hotel, but backed off when Rahim arrived, recognizing his authority over even them.[1]
Rahim tried to intimidate her and Jones with a scimitar, but after a heated exchange in which the enraged gangster found out that Helena had sold off her engagement ring at a disappointingly cheap rate, they escaped. With Shaw, Jones, and Teddy Kumar fleeing via tuk-tuk, Rahim pursued them through the streets and alleys of Tangier, with help from his men on motorcycles, not realizing that his quarry was likewise in pursuit of Jürgen Voller in his Mercedes. During the tuk-tuk chase, Rahim pleaded for Shaw to return, and prevented one of his gunmen from firing a shotgun at Shaw's tuk-tuk. In the end, Rahim nearly caught up to Shaw and her friends, but was stopped when his Jaguar got stuck in a narrowing alley.[1]
