Bangkok, known locally as Krung Thep, is the capital city of Thailand.
Due to the nation's shape, Bangkok is located both in the center of Thailand and on its coast. It is home to the monarchy and is a major center of industry and trade.
History[]
In 1935, in escaping from Lao Che, Indiana Jones, Short Round, and Willie Scott boarded a Ford Tri-Motor Airplane in Shanghai that was supposed to be headed to Bangkok with a load of poultry.[1] Unfortunately for them, the plane belonged to Lao Che Air Freight, and its pilot ensured that Jones and his companions didn't reach Siam at all when he and his co-pilot abandoned the craft over the Himalayas mid-flight forcing the trio to save themselves with a liferaft that took them to India.[2]
By 1936, Jones had visited the city where he confronted antiquities thief Ian McIver over a set of tablets.[3]
