Baraco is a town near the easternmost tip of Cuba.
In the summer of 1943, Raul, piloting his plane Rosita with passengers Indiana Jones and George McHale used an airstrip hacked out of the sugarcane fields near the town as the second refueling point on their way from Santiago to Haiti. After taking off from Baraco, the plane, overloaded, experienced engine failure and crashed in the Windward Passage.

The listing of "Baraco" in Indiana Jones and the Army of the Dead is likely a typographic mistake for "Baracoa", the actual city at the easternmost tip of Cuba, and first city founded in Cuba, in 1511.
