The Adventure Society Base Camp was set up in an area of Central America around a temple the group believed to be the entrance to El Dorado. It was where Society members stayed before heading out on expeditions, most notably in search of four animal shaped idols needed to access the temple. In 1934, it was also the home of a native Central American woman named Zoey Hugo, who helped the Adventure Society members on their travels by creating traps and diversions for the flora and fauna in the jungles. In the same year, Indiana Jones set up a tent there that provided traps and diversions for larger animals and snakes.
