Beer is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in the world.
American archaeologist Indiana Jones and his friend Wu Han drank root beer bottles while on a train after leaving Shanghai in 1933.[1]
Beer first became available in cans in 1935.[2]
In 1937, Wehrmacht colonel Viktor Gantz mocked Indiana Jones by saying that one of the ways his country celebrated its people's idiocy was drinking the "piss" that was the beer.[3]
In 1957, tall glasses of the home-brewed beer known as chicha by Peru's indigenous people were sold by vendors in the Nazca marketplace.[4]
