A fountain of the Blood of Kali in the Temple of Doom
The Blood of Kali was a mystical drink allegedly from Kali herself. It put anyone who drank it into a cursed trance, which was known as the Black Sleep of the Kali Ma, leading them to serve the Thuggee. It was said that this sleep was unending.
Indiana Jones was forced by Mola Ram to imbibe the substance, leading him into a hallucinogenic trance in service to Mola Ram's cult. He was freed from this trance by Short Round, who, having learned that extreme pain could break the trance, struck Jones with a lit torch.
