The Blood of Kali was a mystical drink allegedly from Kali herself. It brought anyone who drank it into a cursed trance, the Black Sleep of the Kali Ma, leading them to serve the Thuggee. It was said that this sleep was unending.
Indiana Jones was forced by Mola Ram to imbibe the substance, leading him into a hallucinogenic trance in service to Mola Ram's cult. He was freed from this trance by Short Round, who, having learned that extreme heat could break the trance, struck Jones with a lit torch.
