Bombay (present-day Mumbai) is a city in India.
Adventures in Bombay[]
Author Jules Verne referenced Bombay in Around the World in 80 Days.[1]
As a spy during World War I, Indiana Jones was sent to Bombay to prevent a German spy from acquiring a ball-bearing bomb.[2]
Following the war, Jones and his friend Remy Baudouin journeyed across the globe in search of the Peacock's Eye diamond. However, Jones decided the treasure hunt was distracting him from his dream of becoming an archaeologist and the two went their separate ways with Baudouin deciding to continue the chase to Bombay.[3]
In the early 1930s, an unknown archaeologist hired by the Smithsonian Institution to catalog the world's artifacts passed through Bombay.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
An episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles set in Bombay was planned for the series but the show was cancelled before that could come to pass.[5]
