Colonel Bulldog Hannigan was the war-hungry and trigger-happy commanding officer of a company of US soldiers stationed near Devil's Cradle on the American east coast.
Hannigan and his men were tracking down saboteurs in the mountains near their camp in 1936 when Indiana Jones parachuted into the middle of their hunt while escaping from the doomed plane carrying Edith Dunne. Jones was captured by Hannigan's soldiers and held prisoner in their camp but managed to escape by commandeering a jeep.
