The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is an agency of the government of the United States of America, and handles the welfare of American Indian tribes and the administration of tribal lands and reservations. Founded in the early 1800s, the agency was originally under the War Department before being shifted to the Department of the Interior.
Adventures with the BIA[]
In 1936, Oinkster and Dominic approached Indiana Jones and his "Archaeology 223" expedition outside the Hopi cave, and claimed to be with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and tried to persuade the expedition to not enter the caves. However, Jones felt they were suspicious, and asked for identification. Without real IDs, the two thugs used their rifles to enforce their way. Jones suspected that they might be thieves, but later discovered a plot to turn the Hopi cave into a criminal hideout.
Behind the scenes[]
In 1936, the real world agency was known as the Office of Indian Affairs. It was renamed as the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1947.
