The DVD release of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones included over ninety companion historical documentaries which covered a variety of topics that connect to the chapters. Topics include biographies of historical figures or reviews of the different historical events, ideas or movements that Indiana Jones encountered in that chapter. Some of the documentaries focus on characters, events, or ideas that were central to the chapter's story, while others focus on a topic only briefly introduced in the chapter.
The documentaries are usually about 30 minutes in length. They typically include interviews with modern academic experts on the subject as well as notables in that field.
Each volume also contains one historical lecture.
