Biography[]

At the age of fourteen, Cerdic Sandyford was student at Charenton Academy in England, where he meet fellow student Indiana Jones. While most of the British boys looked down on the American newcomer, Cerdic befriended Jones on their first day, recognizing Indy's father as the noted scholar Professor Henry Walton Jones, Senior. Cerdic told Indy: "I've read every one of your father’s books. Medieval history, the age of King Arthur—they fascinate me!"[1]

His father Mr. Sandyford owned the local colliery, which he ran with progressive labor practices uncommon for the period When the school term ended in late October 1913, Cerdic invited young Indy to spend Halloween at his family's estate near the coal-mining village of Trewen, Wales.[1]

While exploring the Welsh countryside, Cerdic and Indy discovered a silver dragon ring hidden within a rock near a spring known as Arthur’s Fountain. Moments after retrieving it, a long-dead oak tree crashes down beside them, an event that seemed to confirm their superstitions surrounding the artifact. After a series of acts of sabotage culminated in a explosion at the Sandyford mine, Cerdic joined Indy in rescuing his father from the collapse.[1]
