Chachapoyas

Chachapoyas is a region in the northern part of Peru, near the confluence of the Marañón, Utcubamba, and Bagua rivers (in the modern Amazonas region of Peru. Covering part of the Andes Mountains, its slopes are covered by thick vegetation, fed by frequent low-hanging clouds. The region was once home to the Chachapoyans, who built many temples and other sites around the area, but is now home to the Hovitos tribe.
