Charles Kennedy was a professor and later a dean at Marshall College.

Biography[]

In 1936, Charles Kennedy wrote a professor evaluation for the spring archaeology course taught by Dr. Henry Jones, Jr., which Dr. Jones kept in his journal. His comments noted Dr. Jones' popularity among students, especially female ones, but added that his travel schedule often conflicted with his ability to teach and grade exams. Regarding Jones' research, he considered that the university had benefited from the public recognition brought in by Jones' acquisitions, but also acknowledged the potential for negative publicity as well.[1]

In 1938, after clipping a newspaper article from La Gazzetta di Venezia about an unidentified American leaving a trail of destruction around Venice, beginning at a library, Jones reflected on Dean Kennedy's comments over negative publicity in his journal.[1]
