Chess is a board game for two players. It is an abstract strategy game played on a square board consisting of 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 grid.
History[]
The book Dailo Smacco Allo Scacco Vol 1: La Rimonita Neggli Scacchi by Benedetto Cernigoi was the first in a series of books designed to help the reader improve their chess skills.[1]
The "Marshall Open Standard Chess Tournament" was held at Marshall College in Fall 1937. Professor Hall oversaw the chess club at school, while instructor Moradini Tal offered "coaching and theory lessons" to students wanting to play.[1]
