Indiana Jones Wiki

"According to Kingston, the Keepers of the Staff left a compass in Istanbul that points the way to their final destination. They called it the Shepherd, and they told their whole story in a Chronicle hidden deep in the bowels of the Sultan's Palace. If I can find that Chronicle, I'll know exactly where to start looking"
Indiana Jones[src]

The Chronicle was a stone tablet that was made by the Keepers of the Staff who held the Staff of Moses. It Chronicled their story and the story of the Staff and told a bit of the history of the mythical city of Suya Desh but did not speak of it's location. It was hidden deep within the Roman cisterns underneath Topikai Palace in Istanbul. The Chronicle detailed where the Shepherd was, a clue that led to the Temple of the Staff in Nepal.

History[]

In 1939, Indiana Jones was searching for clues about his old Professor, Charles Kingston. He found his notes in Panama which led him to Istanbul. Kingston's notes mentioned that the only way to find the Shepherd is to find the Chronicle. While Jones knew about the Chronicle, the German secret agents and soldiers working for Magnus Völler did not. Jones found the Chronicle, not in the cisterns, but in a Radio room which used to be a library for the palace. While battling soldiers and agents trying to contact Magnus, Indy found the Chronicle hidden in the room. Reinforcements arrived so Jones made his escape on an Elephant charging through the streets. He showed the Chronicle to his traveling companion, Maggie O'Malley and they went to the cisterns together, using it to find the Shepherd.
