The Covenant of Buddha was an artifact. It contained the original writings of Gautama Buddha, his precepts and teachings dictated and written in his own words. The importance in the Covenant was in its text, containing the words of the Buddha, it would have been able to unite every Buddhist across Asia under one true doctrine.[1]

History[]

The Covenant of Buddha was locked away in a hidden chamber for 2,400 years.[2] In 1938, it became the interest of the Japanese Imperial Army who wished to manipulate the relic to strengthen Japan's hold throughout China and beyond.[1]

Powers and physical makeup[]

Any supernatural power was never revealed due to the destruction of the text, it may never be known whether the Covenant had any power other than philosophical. However, it would have had the ability to unite the world's Buddhists.[2]
