Indiana Jones Wiki

The Cult of Mithras was a Roman mystery religion contemporaneous with the polytheism of Imperial Rome and the early years of monotheistic Christianity.

Centuries later, an enigmatic group patterned after Mithraic practices was hellbent on stopping archaeologist Indiana Jones' exploration of the Nephilim Order in late 1937.

History[]

Historically Roman, the cult dedicated to the ancient deity Mithras was revived in the early 20th century by Father Orlando Ricci, a Vatican City priest and occultist, when his fascination for Roman history morphed into fanaticism. However, his ambition as the self-styled leader of the Cult of Mithras was brought to an abrupt end when his manipulation of Indiana Jones woke a sleeping giant beneath the Colosseum on October 23, 1937.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The DLC story expansion for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle titled "The Order of Giants" has Indiana Jones contend with the Cult of Mithras as new antagonists in addition to Father Cesare Ventura and Benito Mussolini returning from the base game.[2] Due to the DLC coming out for players at different stages of progression, some having already finished the game and others having only recently begun, MachineGames felt it was important to provide a consistent challenge so implemented a system that scaled the difficulty of the DLC enemies dependent on how far the main story had progressed: for players that have recently started the game, the cultists may be easier to fight, while for players that have already finished or are about to end the game, the cultists may be harder to fight.[3]
