David Bowie was a British singer, songwriter, and actor.
Biography[]
Larry, a Beat poet who was neighbors with Indiana Jones in 1969, played Bowie's song "Space Oddity" as part of a personal celebration of Apollo 11 ticker tape parade from his apartment. The elderly Jones, having been woken by Larry blasting The Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" into his home one floor above earlier that day, took no part in the festivities and instead added alcohol to his morning coffee ahead of his last day of teaching at Hunter College.
Behind the scenes[]
In addition to his musical career, David Bowie stared as Jareth the Gobin King in the 1986 Lucasfilm Ltd. film Labyrinth, produced by George Lucas and written by Terry Jones.
