David James, established in 1902, was a hatter and tailor situated next door to Arnie's Diner in Bedford, Connecticut.

History[]

In 1957, Mutt Williams and Indiana Jones drove past David James on Williams's motorcycle after they instigated a fight at Arnie's Diner.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The exterior buildings outside Arnie's Diner, including David James, were shot at Paramount Studios in 2007,[2] specifically on the New York Backlot.[3] Guy Hendrix Dyas, the production designer of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,[1] named the establishment after the film's still photographer, David James, who captured an image of the full storefront which was included in his book Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: A Photographic Journal.[4]
