The Deputy Sheriff accompanied the Sheriff to the Jones residence after a young Indiana Jones sent Herman for them in 1912. After the Sheriff secured the Cross of Coronado for Fedora, the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff both left.[1]

The non-speaking role of the Deputy Sheriff was played by Ted Grossman in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.[1] Grossman also played a role as a Peruvian porter in Raiders of the Lost Ark[2] and did stuntwork in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.[3]
The script and movie credits refer to the character as Deputy Sheriff, though the character's actual name is not revealed.[1]
