"Dogs are better than people."
Leo Tolstoy[src]

A dog is a four legged domesticated animal.

American archaeologist Indiana Jones, himself nicknamed after his pet dog, an Alaskan Malamute named Indiana[1], encountered various different breeds in his travels around the globe.

Adventures with dogs[]

In 1936, American archaeologist Indiana Jones used dogs to pull a sled across the northern coast of Siberia in his race to find the Tomb of the Gods before the Nazis.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Owing to Indiana Jones being a "dog person", the developers of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle made sure their game's player couldn't shoot dogs like they can do with enemies. While the game contained some dog enemies, Indy must just scare them away instead of killing them. This is in contrast to Bethesda Softworks' Wolfenstein games, where the player can blow dogs up by shooting at them, which MachineGames design director Jens Andersson attributed to the Indiana Jones franchise being a family-friendly IP.[5]
