By 1921, Dresden housed a prestigious local university where Magnus Völler studied. He later returned to complete his archaeology schooling following his expulsion from the University of Chicago for leaving Indiana Jones for dead in an attempt to claim the Jade Sphere from the Temple of the Cosmos.[1]

Behind the scenes[]
Dresden was indirectly mentioned through its university in Rob MacGregor's unpublished novelization of the Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings video game, as a means to expand on the background of Nazi archaeologist Magnus Völler.[1] The game itself has no references to Völler's studies other than the University of Chicago.[3]
