Durkin was a CIA agent who, on August 16, 1969, coordinated a pursuit of rogue British archaeologist Helena Shaw but his leadership was undermined by the former Nazi turned NASA official Jürgen Voller.
Biography[]
By August 1969, Durkin had broken his ankle when he found himself coordinating a CIA operation into the activities of Helena Shaw, an international black market antiquities smuggler. Agent Mason tracked the woman to Hunter College in New York City but enforcers for Jürgen Voller, a Nazi turned NASA scientist emboldened by government support, disrupted the mission in their attempt to claim the Antikythera for Voller. During a chase through the university, Durkin, who quickly lost control of the situation, was trapped under metal shelving when Professor Indiana Jones attempted to escape from the strangers after being abandoned by Shaw.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Durkin was portrayed by Martin McDougall in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.[1] McDougall had previously portrayed Red Cross worker Joe in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles episode "Northern Italy, June 1918", later edited into Tales of Innocence.[2]
