Emerelda Vasquez was the leader of a band of pirates in 1936.
Biography[]
In 1936, Simon Katanga and Indiana Jones were confronted by a crew of pirates led by Emerelda Vasquez while on an expedition to the Aleutian Islands to find an ancient Chinese temple. Emerelda commandeered the Bantu Wind, stole the Chinese treasure and demolished the temple, leaving Indy, Katanga and ship's crew for dead.
Indy and Katanga were both able to escape the island, with Katanga's team able to sneak aboard and eventually assume control of Emerelda's submarine. At the end of a naval battle that ensued, Vasquez was killed and Katanga was once again captain of the Bantu Wind.
