Emily Keene was an English woman who moved to Morocco to marry the Sharif of Jebel. His people objected to his marriage to a Christian woman, but he said that if they ignored her, they would be ignoring him as well. She stayed there and introduced tea to the country.
Biography[]
In 1908, Emily Keene met with Walter Harris, Sheikh Es-Salih and the Jones family. She gave a chest to Harris to deliver to the Sultan, and assigned one of her household servants, a young slave named Omar, to befriend young Indiana Jones.[1]
