Fairfield is a town in central upstate New York, and is home to Barnett College. While a professor at Barnett College, Indiana Jones lived in the town at a house at 38 Adler Avenue.[1]
Visiting professor Francisca Uribe Del Arco also temporarily had a house in Fairfield, along with her servants, Pilar and her son, Jorge.[2]

Barnett College's location in Fairfield is first revealed on the package containing the Grail Diary sent from Venice to Jones' college office at Hamilton Hall on Grove Avenue in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.[3][1]
While there is an actual Fairfield in central New York state, it is a small town, unlikely to host a college of the size of Barnett College. The fictional Fairfield's location in central New York is depicted as being east of the Finger Lakes in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis,[4] roughly southeast of Syracuse, but not as far east as the actual town of Fairfield is located.
