Soup of the Head was the fourth course served at the Guardian of Tradition Dinner given at Pankot Palace in 1935.[1] Commonly referred to as eyeball soup,[2] it contained various parts of the heads of sheep in a broth.[1] Having been disgusted by all the previous fare served, Willie Scott requested soup, hoping it would be more appetizing. She and Short Round took a moment to savour the aroma, but were quickly repulsed to discover eyeballs in the soup.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom executive producer Frank Marshall stated that the Soup of the Head actually consisted of a tomato soup in which fake eyeballs were stuck to the soup's bottom with putty.[4]
