"This fountain must be hundreds of years old."
Gina Lombardi[src]

The Fountain of Confession (Latin: Fons Confessionis) was located in Vatican City.

History[]

During the Crusades, Augur the Giant—a leader of the Nephilim Order—decreed that a monastery was to be built under the Vatican several centuries after the tribe had first entered into its alliance with Saint Peter in Rome, Italy following the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Fountain of Confession became an elaborate entrance to the monastery, one of several secret accessways used by the Nephilim to carry out their clandestine Reclamation Project.[1]

In October 1937, initially unaware of the wider significance of the piece, archaeologist Indiana Jones infiltrated the Holy See in pursuit of a Cat Mummy stolen from Marshall College by one of the giants. He and his newfound companion Gina Lombardi gained entry through the fountain after the intricate unlocking system was figured out.[1]

The Fountain of Confession is a real location at the Vatican used for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, albeit considerably embellished in service to the storyline. This includes the name as the real landmark is known as the Fountain of the Sacrament (Italian: Fontana del Scramento).
