The four Mayan figurines were four small golden figurines in the shape of a vulture, lizard, fish, and an ear of corn. Each of them were slightly larger than a human thumb and were individually wrapped in strips of cloth. In July 1941, Indiana Jones found them during an archaeological dig at an Incan shrine in Peru. While searching for Bert Brodowski, two men jumped Indy, who used a figurine to knock out one of the men.

Later, Indy found that the figurines opened the entrance to the Pyramid of the Sorcerer. Nichols took the vulture figurine when he followed Indy into the pyramid, and the artifact was presumably destroyed during Nichols death.
