"Don't bark at me, Jones."

Francine was the frizzy-haired, insolent secretary of three of London University's assistant professors, including Indiana Jones. Toward the end of his first association with the school in 1927, Jones returned to his office privately declaring that he'd have his own secretary one day and found that the graduate student had allowed two of his class into the room with his mail to spare her being bothered by their chatter. He discovered that they'd also taken out and moved gifts from his deceased wife, Deirdre.[1]

Jones ultimately got his wish for his own secretary by 1930, when he returned to the university and his secretarial duties were performed by Frances Smythe.[2]
