Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador.

Pizarro led the Spanish conquest of Peru and the native Inca empire in pursuit of treasure.[1]

Afterwards, word continued to speak of the existence of a city of gold. Called "El Dorado" by the Spaniards, the city was known to the Inca as Akator.[2]
