Francois was a man who formed part of a cadre of scientists working for French Intelligence in 1917 from their station in room 13C. He helped provide a cover identity for a young Indiana Jones and showed him a fitted briefcase which contained invisible ink hidden within a bottle for hair oil then gave him the spectacles that would complete the spy's disguise as "Fritz Diefenbaker".[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In Young Indiana Jones and the Attack of the Hawkmen, Francois was played by Anthony Daniels,[1] the longtime Star Wars actor.[2]
In the teleplay for "Ahlhorn, Late February 1917", an additional scientist named Georges gives 'Diefenbaker' his eyeglasses,[3] but the action was given over the Francois when the script was adapted into Attack of the Hawkmen.[1]
