French Indochina (or simply Indochina) was a French protectorate in Southeast Asia comprised of the modern-day countries of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. It shared borders with China in the north and Burma and Thailand to the west.
Formed in 1887, the colony saw Japanese occupation during World War II, and in 1946 conflict between the Vietnamese and French would see the end of Indochina by 1954.
Adventures in French Indochina[]
Indiana Jones visited Vietnam sometime prior to May 1919. He would later meet Ho Chi Minh at the Paris Peace Conference who was looking for fairer representation for the Vietnamese people under French rule.
Around 1932, Jones was reported to be in Indochina on the trail of "the demon monkey of Laeng-Tran".
The Cantonese-based family of Chinese adventurer Yu-Ting Liu had business connections in French Indochina.
