Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a town in Germany.
In 1938, having escaped Castle Brunwald and evaded pursuit by the Nazis, Indiana Jones and his father stopped at a sign where the road split, with Berlin in one direction and Venice in the other, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen pointed in the direction they had just come from.
