This German Officer served in the Waffen-SS and in 1938 he attended the Berlin bookburning rally presided over by Adolf Hitler.

Biogrpahy[]

When Indiana Jones disguised himself as a Nazi army officer in Berlin and accidentally acquired Adolf Hitler's autograph while retrieving the Grail Diary, the SS officer approached him and his father. He was jealous that Jones, whom he mistook for an officer of a lower rank, had gotten Hitler's signature, and reprimanded him for not being at his post. Jones responded by decking the officer and knocking him out.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The German Officer at Hitler Rally was played by Paul Humpoletz in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.[2]

The scene in which the officer confronts Jones was cut from the final version of the film, but remains in the novelization[1] and comic book adaptation.[3]
