The German Snow Patrols were an elite group of German soldiers sent to Nepal in 1939 to help Magnus Völler recover the Staff of Kings. Indiana Jones battled with these men a few times while searching for the same artifact.
History[]
In 1939, Indiana Jones visited Nepal with Maggie O'Malley and arrived at Suya Desh to meet with Charles Kingston. While there the Nazi Zeppelin Odin showed up an attacked the town, dropping off Snow Patrols to attack the town and open the way to the Temple of the Staff. Indy fought these men and stopped them from opening the temple. There was only one variety;
- Grunts: These men made up the entire unit. They wore grey uniforms to protect them from the cold environment including black gloves, black armbands and balaclavas. They were skilled in combat although it did vary from soldier to soldier with some able to block light and even some heavy attacks. Some could also avoid being grappled. They were well armed with many equipped with Luger P08s and MP-40s. They would also use hammers, wrenches, spades, wooden objects and explosives but they sometimes used their fists.
These men made it up to the entrance to the temple and were able to plant explosives on the entrance but were defeated by Jones before they could enter. Some survived the shootout in Suya Desh and followed Magnus into the temple and surrounded it. One took the Staff from Indy and another took Maggie to the Odin with Magnus.
Behind the scenes[]
The German secret agents are only appear in Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for the PS2 and Wii. There is no equivalent for them on the PSP as they are just regular German Soldiers. On the DS there are soldiers with winter uniforms but they are not specified as German Snow Patrols.
Dirk Meyer, Christian Mey, Jens Münchow, Torsten Münchow and Michael Schernthaner provided there voices for the soldiers.
The German Snow Patrols are a fictional unit but likely based of the Waffen SS or the Fallschirmjägers.
