Giacomo Andrini was a friend and rival of Indiana Jones who owned an Italian "curiosity shop".
Biography[]
In 1938, Giacomo Andrini encountered Indiana Jones and his young cousin while the pair were vactioning in Venice, Italy. He invited them back to his shop so Jones could unlock a box he'd collected containing one of the lost diaries of Marco Polo.[1]
When Jones's translation of the diary revealed the existence of Genghis Khan's hidden treasure trove, the friends found themselves competing to recover it from Mongolia.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Giacomo Andrini was created by Ellen Weiss for the Find Your Fate adventure book Indiana Jones and the Gold of Genghis Khan.[1]
As his actions are influenced by the reader's decisions, there is no definitive canonical storyline for Giacomo Andrini beyond the first few pages when the multiple story strands begin to appear. One version reveals Andrini is a Italian Fascist sympathizer which alters his friendly rivalry with Indiana Jones.[1]
