Gillies MacKinnon is a Scottish film director, writer and painter. He directed the "Ireland, April 1916" episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
MacKinnon studied mural painting at the Glasgow School of Art before working as an art teacher and cartoonist. Gillies directing credits include a range of critically acclaimed films and television dramas, including The Grass Arena, Small Faces, Hideous Kinky and The Last Bus.
