Indiana Jones Wiki

Gino's was an Italian restaurant located in the city of Chicago. In the early 1920s, Indiana Jones and his classmate from the university, Harold Oxley, used to stop by the restaurant for pizza every Tuesday.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

It was likely that the mention of Gino's and their pizza in James Rollins' novelization of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a reference to the real world Chicago restaurants, Original Gino's and Gino's East, known for their deep dish pizza. However, these restaurants did not open until 1954 and 1966, respectively, with the latter venue contrasting with the plot's 1957 setting.
