The Gold Ram's Head was an amulet made of pure gold. Indiana Jones noted in his journal that the artifact probably dated from around 700 BC.
In 1939, a digging team led by Magnus Völler set up camp in the space between three Nubian pyramids. It is likely that Völler's and his team found the amulet in or around the temple complex, and it ended up in one of their tents. After losing the Ram's Head Bust to Völler inside the temple, Jones exited to the Sudan Camp, and sealed Völler and one of his German Desert Commandos inside the structure. Looking for an escape, Jones found the Gold Ram's Head inside of the tents, and took it with him.
Behind the scenes[]
In the Wii/PS2 version of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, the Gold Ram's Head is noted as the third fortune in the journal for Sudan. It is found in an open tent in the Sudan Camp after he exits from the temple.
