The Golden Apple was an object that archaeologist Indiana Jones stumbled upon in October 1937 as he made his way through the Cloaca Maxima below Rome, Italy while looking into the background of the Nameless Crusader.[1]

Despite the harsh environment, Jones found that a lone resilient tree had managed to flourish in the sewers and spotted the golden apple lying near the base of the trunk, acknowledging that such items often appeared in quest legends when he collected it though perhaps not quite appreciating what it represented in the history of the long-dead giant.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Golden Apple in the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLC The Order of Giants is a bonus collectible which will reward adventure points, in-game currency, to players who take the initiative to recover it.[1]

The motif of golden apples in quest legends is also referenced in the base game through the "Apple of Discord" achievement/trophy as a play on words.[2]
