Guybrush Threepwood was a visitor to Monkey Island. He was notorious for being able to hold his breath for an exceptional amount of time.

Behind the scenes

Guybrush Ulysses Threepwood is a character from LucasArts' Monkey Island game series where he mentions that he can hold his breath for ten minutes.

In one path of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, if Indy drowns while looking for the airlock of Atlantis, the game over screen mentions that he couldn't hold his breath as long as Threepwood.

Threepwood later appeared as a playable easter egg in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine's Aetherium level. In the demo of The Secret of Monkey Island, Threepwood could temporarily change into Indiana Jones if the player attempted to pick up a chalice he identifies as "the cup of a carpenter."

Indiana Jones Adventure World's Easter Island Dig level references Monkey Island by quoting one of the series' running gags: "Look behind you, there's a three-headed monkey!"
