A Harem was a location in the Sultan's Palace in Istanbul.
In historical or cultural contexts—especially in Islamic, Middle Eastern, or South Asian societies—a harem refers to the part of a house reserved for women, typically the wives or servants of a man, in royal or aristocratic families. It was a private, often secluded space, and access was usually restricted to the family and certain trusted individuals.
Behind the scenes[]
A harem was featured in the Wii/PS2 versions and PSP version of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings.
In the Wii and PS2 versions, Indiana Jones passed through the Harem while exploring the Sultan's Palace. The Harem contained a bath containing statues of the harem girls and one of the Sultans. Jones used the statues to open a secret passage down to one of the hidden caves below the palace.
n the PSP version, it was one of the time trial levels. The Harem was presumably in the Sultan's Palace based on the architecture. Jones rapelled into the Harem. Upon entering the room he was then assaulted by assorted Tong and Nazi thugs.
