The Hebraic Library of Brooklyn was a New York City research library.

History[]

Journalist Marya Smirnova had visited the Hebraic Library of Brooklyn at least once while researching the Lost Book of the Cabal and Henry Jones, Sr. helped her meet Master Canches, scholar who worked there.[1]

In 1936, she was reunited with Canches when she returned to the institute with archaeologist Indiana Jones, Henry's son, when the man was sent a copy of the grimoire under mysterious circumstances. The elderly Canches was able to decipher the formula for the Philosopher's Stone included in the book but he was shot and killed by a Nazi agent who was pursuing the secret of the relic for the Third Reich. The killer was chased off and the scholar used his dying breath to tell Jones to seek out Nicholas Flamel's tombstone at the Musée de Cluny.[1]
